Gary is the son-in-law of Turner founder, Sumpter Turner. A Jacksonville, NC native and graduate of Atlantic Christian College (Barton College). He came to TEC in 1966 while engaged to Mr. Turner’s middle daughter, Carol. It is hard to compress Gary’s 50+ year career at TEC to a few sentences. Some highlights include but not limited to; developing and fostering countless Petroleum Equipment Industry relationships, venturing into new territories up and down the East Coast, developing a prosperous marketing strategy for Turner Greenhouses to backyard enthusiasts all over the country and providing North Carolina schools with instructional greenhouses. Gary has guided Tuner through many decades of prosperity, economic challenge, and even natural disaster, always with unwavering integrity.

Gary calls himself the oldest rat in the barn but we like to call him the Top Dog!
